Zaykeese Amarius Brown was a loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. God wrapped his loving arms around Zaykeese on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Zaykeese was born on March 3, 2000, in Lynchburg, VA, to Anthony Brown and Kennita Hopkins. Zaykeese was a 2019 E.C. Glass graduate.

We were only able to have him for 25 years on this earth, but Zaykeese touched many lives and was well loved. Zaykeese had a smile that would light up a room. He was a man of few words, but he was a loyal friend to those who got to know him. Zaykeese played AAU basketball growing up and was a valuable teammate for E.C. Glass. Zaykeese loved his coaches and teammates; he was an avid gamer; one of his favorite games was 2K.

He was preceded in death by his paternal Grandfather, George Brown, Sr.; grandmother, Alice Diggs; and Best Friend, Dre'yon (Biggs) Browley.

Zaykeese is survived by his parents, Anthony Brown and Kennita Hopkins; maternal grandparents, Diane Hopkins (Victor Early) and Julius Hubbard; paternal grandmother, Constance Brown; aunts, Kennesha Hopkins, Kasia Pullen, and Crystal Brown; uncles, George Brown, Jr., and Vincent Brown; chosen brothers, Keyon Hopkins, Trey Brown, Keionte Starks, Markel Woodruff, Jairelle Reeves, Treymond Clayton, and Jaden Merriman; cousins, Nadia McDaniel, Gia Brown, Mya Brown, Kaniyah Haynes, and Zymeiere Brown; and a host of friends and loved ones.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Rivermont Baptist Church.
