On November 28, 2020, the Lord called our loved one, Wilmer "Leroy" Gaines from labor to rest. Leroy was born on March 7, 1955 to the late Deacon Irvin and Irma H. Gaines. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Leroy attended Rustburg High School and later enlisted in the Navy. He joined the Silver Grove Baptist Church at an early age, later moving his membership to the Jesus Center in Lynchburg, VA. He enjoyed music, especially, singing and playing his guitar.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Tamara Gaines; two step-daughters, Jasmine Morris and Aysha Morris; four sisters, Dinah Alexander (William), Thelma Rosser (James) of Rustburg, Geraldine Pettigrew of Concord, VA, and Phyllis Greene of Oxen Hill, MD; one sister-in-law, Alice Elliott; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
