WILLIAM THOMAS TUCKER affectionately known as Guinea, of 1209 Rose Mill Road, Amherst, VA, departed this life Monday afternoon, January 16, 2017. He was born January 11, 1945 in Nelson County, VA. He was the son of the late Frances Mae Henderson and the late Owen Shelton Hudson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Emmett Jasper Henderson; three brothers: Melvin Hudson, Owen Hudson and Howard Tucker and two brothers-in-law: Silas Smith and Larry Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Shirley Tucker of the home; three sons: William "Dunk" Tucker and Thomas Smith of Madison Heights, VA and Carlos Tucker of Amherst, VA; four brothers: George Hudson of Arrington, VA, James "Gene" Ward of Lovingston, VA, Melvin "Tampa" Ward of Amherst, VA and Emmett "Pete" Henderson of Baltimore, MD; five grandchildren: Tavaris Tucker and Cynthia Tucker of Arrington, VA, Xavier Smith and Mykala Smith of Madison Heights, VA and Denzel Jones of Lynchburg, VA; one great-grandson, Travion Tucker of Arrington, VA; one sister-in-law, Gloria Smith of Arrington, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Pine Hill Baptist Church, Amherst with Rev. Aaron Wade, officiating. The interment will be in the Henderson Family Cemetery.
