Obituary

William "Billy" Edward Wayne peacefully departed this life on January 9, 2021 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born on February 6, 1946 to the late Deloris "Lois" Cabell Wayne and Frederick Wayne Sr. He graduated from Central High School in Amherst, VA and was a faithful member of the Rose Chapel Baptist Church in Madison Heights, VA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Frederick "Brother" Wayne Jr. and his wife Frances; sister Jacqueline "Jackie" Wayne; brothers-in-law Wayne Wood and Warren Hardman, Sr.; sister-in-law Mary Baldwin; his mother-in-law Margaret Hardman whom he loved dearly.

He leaves to cherish his memories the love of his life Ruby Ann Wayne, loving daughter Tamara Wayne Brown, devoted son-in-law Joseph Brown Jr., two beautiful grandchildren Kamryn and Christian Brown of Raleigh, N.C.; three sisters, Fredericka "Dimples" Wayne Hendricks, Myra Wayne Wood, both of Madison Heights, VA and Garrie Wayne Daniels (Marvin) of Plainfield, New Jersey, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Billy's life was filled with passion (politics), joy (loved to laugh and joke), respect, faith, and love. He loved people and was loved by everyone he encountered.  He never met a stranger.  In addition to his employment of many years at General Electric and Ericsson, Billy was a skilled and talented homebuilder, brick mason, auto mechanic, electrician and spent his life helping others.  In his later years, Billy shared his talents by mentoring others in building and construction projects.  He will be greatly missed by his family and the community.

Due to the pandemic, the family will not conduct any public ceremonies or viewings at this time. A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cards and condolences can be sent to P.O.
