Watt Hampton, 80, of Rocky Mount slipped into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Watt was born on January 8, 1926 to the late Scott and Kate Hampton. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Hampton; two brothers and two sisters. Those left to cherish his memories include one step-son, Thomas Preston, of Stratford Conn.; two step-daughters, Nancy (Eddie) Muse and Shirley (Larry) Turner of Rocky Mount; one sister Sarah Hampton of Covington, VA; 8 step grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, November 17, 2006 at Christ Temple Church, Axton with Elder Leonard Thompson officiating. Interment will be in the Family Cemetery.
