I'm free.

Warren Moorman Scott, of Lynchburg, son of the late James Marvin Scott and Willie Mae Scott departed this life to go live with Jesus on Thursday, January 16, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, James M. Scott and Willie Mae Scott. Warren joined Lawyers Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.

He was the husband of Bonnie Faye Scott for 27 years. Warren loved his wife and family. He would kiss his wife every time he left the house. He loved instilling in his kids and grandkids the importance of getting a good education.

Warren served in the US Navy for 6 years. He was stationed in Alaska, Guam, and Texas. He enjoyed serving his county and he often told stories to family and friends of his experiences in the military.

Warren was a master electrician for 40 years, which he loved and would pass on to his son, Tman. Warren also loved restoring houses and having family over for gatherings and cookouts. He also enjoyed watching football games with his wife. His team was the Commanders and on 01/18/2025, we watched them win as a tribute to Warren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Scott; three sons, Levar Anthony (Savannah) of Richmond, VA, Juan Scott of North Carolina, and Terrance Scott (Tasha) of Lynchburg. Four brothers, Marvin Scott (Lavern) of Waldorf, MD, James Scott (Teresa) of Richmond, VA, Lewis Elliott of Richmond, VA, and Lorenzo Elliott (Sara) of Martinsville, VA; one sister, Marlo Davis (Bobby) of Lynchburg, VA; 16 grandchildren; two aunts, Katherine Davis of Lynchburg and Ernestine Scott of Rustburg; uncles, Clifton Scott of Lynchburg, VA and Wallace Jones of Washington, D.C.; mother-in-law, Ann Reid; In-laws, Deborah Murrell, Donnie Anthony (Tina), Geoff Anthony (Angie), Bethina Hudson (Tim), Troy Anthony, Kim Bailey (Pokie), Cynthia Jones, Deborah Holloway (Carlos), and Toya Jones; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Warren and Bonnie were also foster parents.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Lawyers Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Scott will be on view from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2025 and one hour prior to the service at Lawyers Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
