Virginia R. Miller became a member of the Eastern Stars of New Jersey. She worked for the Irvington Police Department as a School Crossing Attendant. Eventually, she felt the calling to be a Certified Nurse's Aide as well as a Cosmetologist, both of which she enjoyed a successful career.

There she served on the Nurse's Unit. After the passing of her Uncle and Aunt in Chicago, she and her mother relocated to Concord, Virginia to be closer to her son (Charles L. Ramey, Sr.).

While living in Virginia she attended Prayer of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder James Garner and Administrative Assistant Jonathan Willis. There she was an active participant in the Sunday School.

When her son (Charles L. Ramey, Sr.) was chosen to continue the ministry that Administrative Assistance I.L. Ward, Sr. had began in Appomattox Virginia.
