Obituary

Viola Jeanette Jeffries Peters departed this life of Sunday, July 18, 2021. She was born on May 02, 1930 to the late Bessie Anne Wood Jeffries and Monroe Charlie Jeffries.

She was a faithful member and Deaconess of New Vine Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Leonard Peters; her loving daughter, Erna Peters Tweedy; her three sisters, Ledora Allen, Nina May Christian, and Louise Jeffries Johnson.

Viola is survived by her daughter, Brenda Marie Peters; her son, Leonard Peters, Jr.; her daughter, Debra Ann Peters; and daughter, Sharon Peters Lewis (Anthony Glass); her devoted sister-in-law, Crystal Peters; one brother-in-law, Clarence Johnson; one son-in-law, Kermit Tweedy all of Lynchburg, VA; her loving grandchildren, Zann Tweedy, Tecora Peters Davis (Antonio M. Davis, Sr.), Sean Mitchell (Kelly), Tiffany Wilson, Christopher Monroe Peters (Latoya Farmer), Carmen Peters Tucker (Omar Tucker), Emery Saunders; great-grandchildren, Kermetra, Shawn, Justin, India, Omar, Dre, Janaya, Chistyan, Aiden, Marlie, Kaylee, Omari, Shaun, Jordan, Ava and J'nya; one great-great grandchild, Zenoviyah; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

A celebration of life will be held 1PM Friday, July 23, 2021, at New Vine Baptist Church with the Rev. Daryl Drew, Officiating and Rev. Mack Johnson, Eulogist. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
