Vernon Gregory Horsley, Jr. passed away peacefully at the home he shared with his fiancée, CorAnn Crockett on November 5, 2015. Vernon was born on August 23, 1971 to Vernon Gregory Horsley, Sr. and the late Sandra Lee Horsley-Lamberth. He graduated from Amherst High in 1991.
Vernon married Joan Wayne in June 1993. Together they had two children, Vernon Gregory, III and Maya Elizabeth Horsley. After several years of marriage, they later divorced. Vernon met CoriAnn while working at DTV. They have been together for the past nine years and were blessed with two children, Tyson Ray and Treyson Lee Horsley.
Vernon treasured his children, family, the Dallas Cowboy, his Yukon, Pit Bulls, fried bologna, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and spending time with those he loved. Vernon may have been stubborn and a little difficult at times, but he would have done anything for anyone. He loved life!!
Vernon is survived by his father, Vernon G. Horsley, Sr. are his fiancée, CoriAnn Crockett; one sister, Samantha V. Horsley, of Lynchburg one brother, John Shaft Horsley (Mary), of Appomattox and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and a of host other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held 6-8:00 PM Monday, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. The family requested that you visit them during visitation not the residence please. The inurnment will be held in the Bolling Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. A service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
