Obituary

On Saturday Morning, January 29, 2022, Our Dearly Beloved Father, Pah-Pah, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend, Tony Lynn Robinson quietly slipped away into eternity.  Born March 14, 1963, in Chester, South Carolina to the loving parents of Mary Mobley Robertson and Irvin Robinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stepfather Alfred B. Robertson and two great-nephews, Tylen Robertson and Kaliq Ford. He is survived by his two daughters Tonie Robinson, and Catherine Robinson; three grandsons, Cassidy Anderson, Cai Anderson, and Chaz Robinson; four siblings, Michael Mobley, Diane Robertson, Angela Robertson, and Michael Saunders; nieces, Meinyon, Jasmine, Bianca, Chelsea and Tonette; nephew, William Williams; great-nephews, Allan, Kelan, and Asher; & his only beloved great-niece, Jazlan and a host of other relatives and friends. He was educated in the Roanoke Public School System. Tony was Pentecostal and a member of the Church In God in Christ #6 in Roanoke VA. Tony recently retired from City of Suffolk where he met & built relationships with a lot of his coworkers. He was also a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. Win or lose, he was committed to the silver and blue! He spent many nights reading, & exploring new things. Often times he would end up watching Jeopardy trying to beat the contestants. He loved socializing & spending time with his family and friends. Tony had a nickname for everybody he encountered rather you knew it or not. He would often call his daughter Tonie Jr., because that she was! His daughter Catherine was and always will be his lil playa! As for his nieces, you all know who you are: Jelly Bread, Hot Smoke, Bonka Boo, Lemon Head, Thick Piece and Will the Thrill.  His Grandsons were Wild Bill, Mexican, & Blondie. Tony will be missed beyond expressions. His absence has left a tremendous void in our family and even with friends he deeply cared for. Needless to say, Tony was a Great Friend, an Awesome Brother, a Wonderful Uncle and a Phenomenal Father and as a Grandfather, he was second to none. Now believe us when we say he had nicknames too.  Uncle Sweet Daddy; Tonyman; Tonecapone; Sweet Daddy From Cincinnati; Uncle Smooth Daddy and Santa Boot. He was a self proclaimed comedian and every phrase had to rhyme. As corny as his jokes were, he was sure to make you laugh. If he wasn't telling a corny joke, he was telling one of the same stories over and over again. And boy would we give anything to hear him tell one of those corny jokes or stories again. He prided himself in wearing his Cowboys gear, gold jewelry, and baseball caps. Tony stayed away from drama, but was always talking trash. We are so grateful for our time with Tony, the memories we will always cherish and the impact he had on our lives. Tony was a confidante, encourager, and in the words of his daughters, "He was the Blueprint of Fatherhood."

A funeral service will be held 11:00 Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Prayer of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ with Pastor, Elder Jonathan Willis, officiating.  Condolences may be sent to www.Davis-Turner. Com.  Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral.
