On December 3, 2017, Thomas Mayo Toliver "Cotton" gained his victory when he was called to his heavenly home to be with the Lord. Thomas was born on March 23, 1951 to the late Frances Jane Toliver and Joseph Timothy Toliver. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Thomas was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He loved yard work, and fixing cars and lawn mowers. He took pleasure in staying connected to family and friends via his flip phone. He could also rev up a motor bright and early. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.

In addition to his parents, his grandparents, Hattie Giles Hill, Frank Nathanial Toliver and Emma Reed, preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory three sons and four daughters: Thomas "ChiChi" Smith, Melvin Allen (Tara), Tony Carter (Shonda), Tammie Chambers (Floyd), Kendra Allen (Rob), Shaneeka Weakly (JC), and Kimberly Hubbard (Travis); Six stepchildren: William, Kenny, Michelle, Charlie, Eric and Winfred; a devoted companion, Georgia Brown; three brothers and five sisters: Robert Toliver (Teresa), Marvin Toliver (Teresa), Cyrus Toliver (Mary Anne), Deborah Whitlock (James), Pamela Toliver (Linwood), Sandra "LuLu" Toliver, Frances "Vip" Toliver (Glenwood) and Kena Toliver (Gary); three aunts and an uncle: Wilma Madden Fulton, Mary "Sis" Toliver, Jean Toliver and Clarence Toliver, and 32 grandchildren.

He also leaves to cherish his memory special devoted friends: James (PaPa) Hudson, Linwood Bowling, Steve Washington (Marie), Donnie Scruggs (Debbie), Eugene "Bally" Loving, Billy Toliver, Ricky Brown, Nathaniel Giles, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
