Thomas Saunders departed this life to enter eternal rest on August 25, 2025. He was born on February 26, 1950, to the late Luther Saunders and Mary Scott Saunders. In addition, those who loved him, who preceded him in death were his brothers; Donald and Robert Saunders; sisters, Evangeline Deane, Frances Wilson, Geraldine Saunders, Priscilla Saunders Jones, and Kathleen Scott Davis; and mother-in-law, Virginia Gray.

Left to honor is memory are his wife, Vennda Gray Saunders; daughter, Kashana Dillard; stepson, Michael Gray; brothers, Luther (Patricia), Stanley (Nina), and Daniel Saunders; sisters, Ethel Hunt, Barbara Canada (Warren), and Shirley Saunders Jones; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Saunders and Rhonda Saunders; a lovingly devoted niece, Candice Johnson; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Tom proudly served in the US Navy and was last based at Quantico Marine Navy Base in Prince William County, Virginia. He was retired from International Paper Company in Lynchburg.
