Thomas Mann Oakcrum "Moon", 59, of Massies Mill, VA passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was born on August 26, 1957 to the late Robert T Oakcrum and Nannie E. Carter Oakcrum. He was preceded in death by his devoted companion, Reesy Myers; two brothers, Robert T. Oakcrum, Jr. and Sgt. John H. Oakcrum; one sister, Hazel Essex.
Those left to cherish his memory are, step-daughter, Michele Myers; step-son, Mike Myers, both of Grottoes, VA; three brothers, Frank (Virginia) Oakcrum, of Amherst and Edward D. Oakcrum, of Massies Mill, VA; William C. Oakcrum, North Garden, VA; three sisters, Rev. Nannie Mae Oakcrum, of Madison Heights, Robbie J. Oakcrum, of Temple Hills, MD and Alice G. (Earl) Riley, of Upper Marlboro, MD; two grandchildren he raised, Ka`men Sandridge and Brooklynn Sandridge; Nathaniel "Nitten" Giles, and Marvin Meade both of Piney River, VA and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Oak Hill Baptist Church, Massies Mill, VA with Rev. Edward Hendricks, officiating. The interment will be in church cemetery.
