Thelma Mae Evans, 70, of Madison Heights passed away, Sunday June 3, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Thelma was born April 26, 1942 to the late Ashby Smith and Alma Lue Brown Smith. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Hawkins and Amy Smith; mother-in-law, Beatrice Allen and her father-in-law, Norvell Evans, Sr.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Floyd Evans, of Madison Heights; one daughter, Kathy Haskins, of Lynchburg; three sons, Floyd Evans, Jr., of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Ronald Evans, of Blacksburg, VA and Jermone Evans, of Lynchburg; three sisters, Annie Smith, Carolyn Smith, Laura Smith and Ronald Smith; four brothers, Raymond Smith, Ronald Smith, Richard Smith (Glenda), all of Lynchburg and John Smith (Clarisse), of Madison Heights and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with Dr. Charles Dunning, officiating. The interment will be in the Scott Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
