Sylvester Anderson, Sr. departed his life on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

He was born in Madison Heights, VA to the late James Anderson and Lacy Harvey Anderson on October 15, 1939. He is also preceded in death by one son, Orlando Anderson; two brothers, Jessie and Russel Anderson; and a brother-in-law, Duval Rose. He served 3 years in the military.

Sylvester is survived by his wife Virgie Townes Anderson; five sons, Ricardo Anderson, Sylvester Anderson Jr., Timothy Anderson, Russell Anderson, and Jessee Ford; four daughters, Gwen Callaham, Joy Anderson, Juanita Johnson, and Lisa Reid; three daughters-in-laws, Laura Anderson. Janice Anderson, and Lisa Anderson; three brothers-in-laws, Carroll Callaham, Garland Johnson, and Andrew Jackson; a devoted nephew, Rod Jackson; two sisters, Juanita Rose and Ethel Jackson; one brother, James Anderson. He is also survived by his loving and devoted grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
