Stewart Evan Robinson of 6072 Stage Road, Concord, VA, departed this life on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at his residence. He was born on June 2, 1949 to the late Stewart and Eloise (Fleshman) Robinson.
Stewart was employed for over 30 years at the City of Lynchburg IT Department as a systems analyst and computer programmer supervisor. He was a Master Mason of Long Mountain Lodge #204 of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Virginia Free and Accepted Masons, Inc.
He graduated from the former Carver-Price High School, Appomattox, VA. He also attended Virginia State University, Central Virginia Community College, and ECPI. He was a deacon and member of Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church, Spout Spring, VA.
Stewart leaves to cherish his memory a devoted and loving wife of 45 years, Rowena Ferguson Robinson of the residence; three loving daughters, Lequetta Robinson Hayes, QMHP/QIDP, of Madison Heights, VA, Dr. Kristy Robinson of Lynchburg, VA, and Judge Karen Robinson of Alexandria, VA; two faithful sisters, Jacquetta Robinson Pettigrew of Appomattox, VA, and Gwendolyn Robinson of Madison Heights, VA; a grandmother, Dorothy Fleshman Thornton of Appomattox, VA; three uncles, Van (Emma) Robinson of Chattanooga, TN, Samuel Thornton of Concord, VA, and Thomas (Theresa) Thornton of Appomattox, VA; a father-in-law, Manley Ferguson, Sr. of Concord, VA; a brother-in-law, Manley (Vanessa) Ferguson, Jr.; two goddaughters, Charlene (Darrell) Ragins of Lorton, VA, and Dionna Watkins of Spout Spring, VA; a nephew, Manley (Shanta) Ferguson, III of Lynchburg, VA; a niece, Denise Ferguson of Concord, VA; special friends, Charles and June Clark, Donald and Linda Ferguson, Norman and Lucy Haskins, Warren and Daisy Watkins; a devoted cousin, Van (Renee) Robinson, Jr.; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
The family gives special thanks to Lynchburg Nephrology, Seven Hills Home Health, and caregivers Dorothy Robinson and Greg Davis.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday January 28, 2016 at Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Albert Reed, officiating. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
