Mr. Steve Loving, 67, of Lynchburg, VA transitioned peacefully into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at his residence. He was born on July 12, 1959, to the late Edward Thomas Loving, Jr. and Annie Diggs Loving. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his precious wife, Delores Ann Loving; two brothers, Charles Edward Loving and Robert L. Loving; a sister, Margaret Ann Diggs; and a grandson, Mateo Mayo.

A devoted servant of Christ, Steve spent much of his life doing street ministry—walking, witnessing, and sharing the gospel with anyone willing to listen. He carried his testimony with pride and offered gospel tracts everywhere he went. His passion was simple: to lead others to the Lord and remind them that God’s love is real.

Following high school, Steve began his working career detailing cars. His passion for cleaning cars was unmatched, and he remained faithful to this calling until his health began to decline. Steve was known for his flashy, unforgettable style—suits, ties, shades, football rings, penny loafers, and that amazing smile that lit up every room. He loved his mints, loved music, and he never missed a chance to ask how everyone in your family was doing. And if you ever heard his laugh, you never forgot it—unique, full of life, and capable of brightening even the hardest day. His warmth, his personality, and his genuine care for others made him memorable to all who knew him.

Steve also loved big trucks with shining rims, especially his black Chevy Suburban. He proudly displayed his favorite Bible verses—Romans 3:23, 6:23, and 10:13—along with the Pledge of Allegiance and the message, “JESUS loves all people, and I do too!” That was Steve: bold in faith, bold in love, and never afraid to let the world know who he belonged to.

His love and memories will forever remain in the hearts of his three children: Stephanie Mayo (Francisco) of Madison Heights, VA, Dwayne Jones of Richmond, VA, and Shannon Jones of Richmond, VA; three brothers, George Ray Loving of Madison Heights, VA, James E. Loving of Madison Heights, VA, and Nathaniel Loving (Rebecca) of Florida; two sisters, Dorothy Lee Wright (Larry) of Madison Heights, VA, and Fannie Ann Diuguid (Nathaniel) of Amherst, VA; nine grandchildren, Miguel Mayo, Manuel Mayo (Rebecca), Morgan Mayo, India Baker, Elijah Baker, Aaliyah Wright, Destinee Jones, Wynter Jones, and Embrey Jones; four devoted aunts, Fannie L. Ross of Amherst, VA, Josephine Nappier of Amherst, VA, Alice Lee Diggs of Amherst, VA, and Mary Jane Higginbotham of Madison Heights, VA; along with a host of nieces, nephews, many cousins, and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. A repast will follow at Rebirth Church, 5341 S. Amherst Highway, Madison Heights, VA 24572. Service of comfort entrusted to Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
