Mrs. Starlet Blanks Shelton of Aragon St. departed this life Monday, September 23, 2013 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. Born in Lynchburg on April 14, 1960, she was the daughter of James L. Blanks, Sr. and the late Gladys Martin Blanks.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Leroy Shelton, Sr. and mother-in-law, Mildred Johnson Shelton, also her Aunt Nell.
She leaves behind, her husband of 35 years, Leroy "Boo" Shelton, three sons, Ahmed, Shareef (Casey) and Tahib, all of Lynchburg; two daughters, Nahdia Shelton and Saudia Shelton(Frank) of Forest, VA; two brothers, Milton Blanks, of Lynchburg and James L. Blanks, Jr. (Blair) of Tappahannock; two sisters, Brenda and Joseph Sanzone of Lynchburg and Sheryl Blanks; three sisters-in-law, Kalimah Samiullah (Muhammad), of Brooklyn, NY, Brenda and Judith Shelton, of Lynchburg and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Forest Level Baptist Church, 2461 Bateman Bridge Rd. Forest with Rev. Terry W. Echols officiating.
