Shirley Casto, of Summersville, West Virginia and Roseland, Virginia passed away on August 30, 2024 at the age of 89. Born in New York and raised in Belle, West Virginia, she was the devoted daughter of the late Burke and Ruby Brown.

Our hearts are sad, but we are rejoicing that she is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. While in high school, she was a gifted vocalist and musician while singing the National Anthem at many of the school events. Shirley played the piano for Dunbar First Baptist Church in Dunbar, West Virginia for many years. She also played for Bethlehem Methodist Church in Roseland, VA, along with occasionally directing the choir. Shirley sang and played the piano for other churches during her lifetime.

She married Charles Casto in 1952 in Dunbar, West Virginia and they had 3 children. After his death in 1999, she met the second love of her life, Joe Clark of Roseland, Virginia. She and Joe had a loving relationship until her passing. Her love for music continued throughout her life. She recorded multiple CDs, singing and playing the piano of songs that she and Joe had written based on their love for Jesus.

Shirley is survived by her amazing love, Joe Clark. She was preceded in death by her first-born child, Terry Casto. She is survived by her children, Mary (Katie) Smith, (Hayes) of Richmond, VA, and Judy Casto Richmond of South Charleston, WV. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Her memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm, on Saturday, September 7th, 2024 at Bethlehem Methodist Church, 7539 Patrick Henry Highway, Roseland, Virginia 22967. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
