Sharlene Turner departed this life on August 23, 2024, at her residence. She was born on July 2, 1948, to the late Occie Callands and Lillian Scott Pollard. Sharlene was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Turner, Sr., a twin sister, Darlene Callands, daughter, Denise Callands, and a nephew, Rodney Spinner.

From an early age, Sharlene embraced the responsibility of caring for her mother. After her mother's passing, she continued this role, dedicating herself to the care of her sisters and brothers. Sharlene later retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant from Westminster Canterbury, a testament to her lifelong commitment to serving others. A devout woman of faith, she devoted her life to Christ and found pride in her work. In her free time, Sharlene cherished spending time with family, enjoyed shopping, and had a passion for dancing. She was also an active member of the Golden Circle and the Eastern Stars.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Ronlee Callands, Maurice Callands (Wennell), Allen McDaniel (Marilyn), Greg Callands (Keisha), and Trina Bryant (Kenneth, Sr.); a stepson, Ronnie Turner, Jr.; a sister, Gil Waller (Michael); brother, James Spinner (Brenda); sister, Margaret Moorman; brother, Vincent Spinner; sister, Mary Huggins, and sister, Delois Alexander; brother and sister-in-law, Harvey Dickerson and Evelynn Jackson; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; 3 devoted friends, Renee Randolph, Kristy Royal, and Vickie Dawson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Sharlene's life was a reflection of her deep love for family, her unwavering faith, and her joy in helping others. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Marsh Memorial Church, 804 Leesville Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
