Shamanda "Boo" Gordon received her wings as she transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, surrounded by her loving parents.

Born on April 29, 1985, in Lynchburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of Mary and Wade Thompson. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Gertrude Crawford, and her papa, Richard White.

Shamanda was baptized and became a member of the First Baptist Church South Lynchburg family where she was welcomed with open hearts of warmth and love.

She leaves to cherish her memory and to celebrate her life, her parents; her sister, Cassandra Gordon (Vernon Williams) of Greensboro, NC; her brother, Pete Ray Gordon (Nicole); her step-brother, Wade Fitch (Michelle); her step-sister, Christina Sandidge; her god-grandmother, Shirley Bradley; fifteen nieces and nephews; eleven great-nieces and nephews all of Lynchburg, VA; nine aunts and four uncles; and a host of remaining relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Special recognition to Davon "Chuck" Gordon, a devoted and dedicated little brother/nephew that took pride in the care of Shamanda "Boo".

Thanks to her two special nieces, Jasmine Gordon and Tiesha Gordon for their love and support for Shamanda.

The Thompson/Gordon family would like to thank the UVA ICU Department and all the staff for the care that they provided Shamanda. Special thanks to all the doctors and the nursing staff that had a hand in her care.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 31, 2022, at First Baptist Church South Lynchburg with Reverend Dr. Carl B. Hutcherson, Jr. as Eulogist. The interment will be in the Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
