Obituary

Savate Matthew Booker, son of the late Chestine M. Booker and Lucille S. Booker, was called to be with the Lord on March 2, 2010. God saw his love one becoming tried and wanted to take him home with the Lord. He was born March 24, 1949 in Campbell County. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and served the Lord at Mt. Evergreen Baptist Church. Then later through his union with his wife he continued is Christianity Journey at Cross Road Baptist Church in Evington, VA. He was president of the Men's Chorus and was a member of the Trustee Board.

Matthew attended Campbell County School and worked many different jobs as a carpenter, Concrete Finisher and continues his career at Aerofin for twenty three years which lead to his retirement. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Brother and Uncle to all his family. His personality was filled with joy and laughter all the way through to the time of his illness.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Chestine M. Booker, Jr. and a sister Linda D. Booker; two aunts, Mary E. Lyles and Geraldine Smith; four uncles, Elmore, Charles and Warren Booker; and a devoted Uncle Leroy Smith.

Those left to Cherish his memories and carry on his legacy is his loving and devoted wife of 13 years Caroline Booker; three daughters, De Shea Smith (Rev. Steven) and De Nell Booker of Raleigh, NC and Clemmie Allen of Lynchburg, VA; and one son, Warrick Allen of Evington, Virginia; three brothers, Carl H. (Marion) of Madison Heights, Alvin Booker (Marsha), Sherman (Sandra) Booker of Rustburg; two sisters, Brenda Mitchell (Bernard) and Annette Mitchell (Willie) both of Lynchburg, VA; three aunts, Lorrine Calloway Evington and Annie Hughes of Lynchburg and Bernice Lewis of Rustburg; six uncles, Elroy Smith, of Rustburg, William Smith, Clayton Smith, both of Lynchburg, Curtis Smith, Earl Smith, both of Washington, DC, James Smith and Randolph Smith all of Evington; six grandchildren and devoted niece Tiffany Booker and nephew Maurice Booker and a host of other devoted nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
