Sandra Lee Horsley-Lamberth, 62, of Madison Heights passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at MCV Medical Center. She was born February 28, 1950 to the late Otis T. Brown, Sr. and Rosa Lee Brown.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Thomas Brown, James Brown and Edward Reeves, Sr., and one sister Evelyn Scott.
Sandra was employed at Lynchburg City School for several years and Family Care Center for 30 years and formed last friendships with Karen Burns and her late husband Dr. Dennis E. Burns. She was a member of Life Changing Outreach Ministries. She served on the hospitality and usher board ministries until she became unable to do such.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children Vernon G. (Joan) Horsley, Jr. of Lynchburg, John S.(Mary) Horsley, Sr., of Appomattox, Samantha V. (Lyndell) Horsley of Lynchburg; godson Troy W. (Latifa) Helm, Jr.,of Lynchburg; two sisters, Susan B. Eubanks, of Lynchburg, and Linda B. Perry, of Madison Heights; three brothers, Richard G. (Mary) Brown, of Amherst, Maurice Brown, of Washington, DC and a devoted brother; Otis T. (Eloise) Brown, Jr., of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren, Vernon III, Maya, and Tyson Horsley, Alexis Dews and Xavier Calloway, John, Jr. and Sarah Horsley; three devoted friends, Mother Jennie Coker, of Petersburg, VA, Barbara Horsley, of Lynchburg, Eva Mae Moorman, of Lynchburg and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Bolling Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Edward Jones, Pastor, officiating and Elder Donald Johnson, as eulogist.
