Sallie Davis Higginbotham was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, December 18, 2022.

Mrs. Sallie Davis Higginbotham of 135 West Court Street, Amherst, VA was born July 04, 1917, to the late Walter Raleigh and Viola H. Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor W. Higginbotham; one child, Joyce Higginbotham; five (5) sisters and three (3) brothers.

Sallie accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church of Amherst, VA where she was faithful until her health began to decline. She enjoyed being a member of the Olive Star Ladies Auxiliary and going to the Amherst Senior Center.

Sallie's memories will be cherished by those she leaves behind her daughter, Gloria Higginbotham of the residence; three (3) sons, Wallace (Evelyn) Higginbotham of Lynchburg, VA, Lawrence (Ruby) Higginbotham, and Paul (Serena) Higginbotham both of Amherst, VA; a sister, Gail D. Thompson of Lynchburg, VA; four (4) grandchildren, Tony Higginbotham, Angela (Douglas) Higginbotham-Chandler, Wallace Craig Higginbotham, and Paula Higginbotham; five (5) great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Amherst, VA with Reverend Kelvin R. Brown as Eulogist. Interment will be in the Christian Aid Cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
