Obituary

Russell Levon Agnew departed this life on April 6, 2019 after a courageous fight with many illnesses.  He was born May 18, 1957 to Virginia Cabell Agnew and the late Elder Dr. James Agnew

Russell attended PS78 Elementary School in Bronx, Ny.  After his family moved from New York to Virginia, he continued his education at Mary Hunter Middle School, Bassett, VA.  He moved to Amherst, Virginia and attended Amherst High School until he enlisted in the National Guard, where he served for twelve years.  He united with the Bollling Hill Baptist Church, Madison Heights, Virginia.

He is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-seven years, Claudine Reid Agnew, to this union they were blessed with three sons; Brandon Jamez', Russell Jauan  (Kimberly) and Kishon Allonte' Agnew; mother, Virginia Cabell Agnew; sister, Gloria (Alan) Lovell both of Charlotte, NC; two grandsons, Antonio and Avery; three devoted aunts, Gladys Cabell, Ocie Cabell and Frances (Edward) Glenn; three uncles, Allen (Lottie) Cabell, Scott Cabell and Bishop Bobby (Norma) Agnew; three sisters-in-law, Naomi Johnson, Arlene Davis and Ruby (Charles) Payne; two brothers-in-law, Phillip (Shirley) Reid and Allen "AJ" Reid and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
