Roosevelt Sales (Rudy) departed this life on April 18, 2025. He was born in Amherst County, VA to John P. and Mattie Belle Sales. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Erica; son, Eric; and eight siblings: George, Page, James, and Charles all of Amherst, VA, Martha Crawford, and Carolyn Strange of Amherst, VA, Anita Wall of Philadelphia, PA, and Elenora Hall of Maryland.

Roosevelt attended Amherst County Schools, served in the Vietnam War, and worked 33 years at Griffin Pipe.

He leaves behind his wife, Janifer H. Sales, of 52 years. Four goddaughters and two godsons; 2 sisters, Mildred Bennett of Philadelphia, PA and Geraldine Thomas of Washington, D.C.; 1 brother, Andrew (Betty) Sales of Amherst, VA; 3 brothers-in-law, Lewis Hendricks of Amherst, VA, Dennis Hendricks of Bedford, Va, and Edward Hendricks (Amanda) of Lynchburg, VA; 2 sisters-in-law, Jessica Langhorne (TR) of Bedford, VA, and Amy Strange of Amherst, VA; two devoted friends, Roscoe (Gail) Carpenter, and Anthony West; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. Interment will be in the Sales Family Cemetery. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
