Ronnie Alonzo Johnson of Amherst, was called to his heavenly home on October 3, 2009. He was the son of the Mary E. Johnson and the late Woody Johnson and the maternal son of Carrie Clark. He was preceded in death by his father Woody Johnson, one sister, Phyllis Cabell; one brother, Juan Johnson; and grandparents Sidney and Daisy Johnson. Born on July 19, 1953, he joined Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church in Monroe, at an early age. Ronnie was an employee of the Trailways Transit System and Doyle's Florist.
Leaving to cherish his precious memories are one daughter, Shante` Alston (Willie); two sons, Christopher Peters and Shawn Jones; four grandchildren, Rayshawn, Christyan, Janaya, Christopher; four brothers, Hayward, Anthony, Sidney (Rose), Donnie (Reatha); three sisters, Eunice, Donna, Amanda; a devoted friend, Debra Peters and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church Monroe with Rev. Andrew Hill, officiating. The interment will be in the church cemetery. Expression of condolences may be sent to www.Davis-Turner.com.
