On Saturday, February 15, 2025, Mr. Ronald Lee Banks departed this life at Fairmont Crossing Health and Rehab Center in Amherst, VA. Born on November 6, 1940, to the late Roy N. Banks, Sr. and Madeline Watkins Banks.
Ronald was employed with George E. Jones Construction in Amherst, VA for 35 years. He worked until his health declined. He enjoyed and loved his family and friends. He was a stranger to no one and loved helping anyone. He was a Jack of all trades-there wasn't anything he couldn't do or fix. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising and killing hogs, and growing a garden. He also loved to ride a motorcycle back in his earlier days.
He was preceded in death by his sisters: Thelma B. Jordan, Lillie B. Jefferson, Erma B. Cashwell, and Constance B. Canada; brothers, Roy N. Banks, Jr., Roger Banks, Charles E. Banks, and Donelle Banks.
Ronald is survived by his only sister, Mary B. McDaniel (Eddie) of Amherst, VA; 2 sons, Ronnie (Tara) Turner and Robert (Trinita) Turner; his daughter, Tina Harris and Bonus Daughter (Hospice Nurse), Brooke N. Harris all of Amherst, VA; 2 special friends, Wanda Wilson, Naidra Wilson and family. Grandchildren, Rondale (Yosheco) Turner, Unequa Turner of Georgia, Roderick (Rebecca) Richerson and Nyema of Madison Heights; a very special granddaughter, JaNasia Rose; 3 great-grandkids, Ayara and Yaraya Turner, and Tsunade Richerson; a host of nieces and nephews; 1 special niece, Brenda Meredith; 4 special nephews, Delmar Canada, Tyrone Jordan, Phillip Banks, and Quincy Jones; aunt Shirley R. Green of Stone Mountain, Ga, and a host of family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at St. Peter's Baptist Church. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
