On February 14, 2013, Roger Lee Horsley, Sr. of Lynchburg, was called home to glory where he was surrounded by his family. He was born to the late George A. and Margaret Horsley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Horsley.
He was employed by the lawn Doctor for many years.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his fiancé, Margaret Minnis and daughter, Stacey Johnson (Barry) both of Lynchburg; also cherishing his memory is Gracy Horsley, mother of his four children; three daughters, Terisa Horsley (Paul), Lisa Bottoms (Sean) all of Bedford, and Estelle Spinner, of Big Island; one son, Roger L. Horsley, Jr. (Kathy), of Big Island; two sisters, Rachel Eubanks (Leslie) and Loretta Bruton, bother of Lynchburg; two brothers, David Horsley (Gertuide) of Radford and Frank Horsley (Hilda) of Amherst; a devoted niece, Jackie Minnis; devoted friends, Henry, Bill, Spencer and Kenny; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family would like extend a special thank you to, The staff of Lynchburg Health and Rehab, a special nurse, Charlottee and the Hospice Care Team as well as a special thanks to all the friends and family.
A funeral Service will be held 2:00 Pm Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with Rev. L. S. Otey, officiating. The interment will be in the Timothy Baptist Cemetery, Amherst.
