God saw that the road was rough and he called another one of His angels home. He saw that he was tired and whispered softly to come home. Now he is resting in God's care.

Richard Junior Jones of 2723 Rocky Road, Rustburg, VA departed this life on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Guggenheimer Health & Rehabilitation Center, Lynchburg, VA.

Born in Campbell County, VA on October 7, 1936 Richard was the son of the late Elizabeth W. Jones and the late George Franklin, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his devoted step-father, Arthur W. Jones; 3 sisters, Mary Jones, Lovelena Jones and Elizabeth Elliott; 8 brothers, Mose Jones, Bernard Jones, Phillip Franklin, Royal Franklin, Herman Franklin, George Franklin, Charles Franklin and Calvin Franklin.

Richard joined New Free Spring Baptist Church in Rustburg, VA at an early age. He was a faithful member until his health failed him. He retired from Lynchburg Foundry.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife, Margurite Rosser Jones; a devoted son, Richard (Ricky) Jones; a step-daughter, Josephine Dodd; 5 sisters, Phyllis Jones, Gracie Jones, Florence Elliott, Carolyn Banks and Sallie Turner; 9 brothers, Sam (Carol) Jones, Charles (Patricia) Jones, Albert (Delilah) Jones, Donnie (Lisa) Jones, Arthur (Helen) Jones, Joseph Franklin, John Franklin, Jamie (Jewel) Franklin and William (Ann) Franklin; 3 sisters-in-law, Janice Franklin, Gracie Franklin and Carol Franklin and a host of loving nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
