Richard "Ricky" A. Lemon, Sr. 75 of Lynchburg, VA stepped into the arms of Jesus Christ His Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born March 2, 1938 in Staunton, VA, the son of the late Mary Elizabeth Pendleton. He also was preceded in death by his brother Pinky Lemon. Ricky was employed at the Lynchburg Foundry and Griffin Pipe for over 30 years. Ricky will be greatly missed. He is survived by his devoted lifelong partner Patricia M. McDaniel; they shared their life together for over 45 years. He leaves to cherish his memories eight children, Rita Lemon (Michael), Tracey Lemon, and her son, Thomas "TJ", Richard A. Lemon Jr., and his daughter, Raven, Michelle Lemon, and her sons, Donovan and Jordan, Ricky Lemon, Jackie Lemon, Demita Lemon and Michael Lemon; four step-children, Jennice McDaniel, Renee Deas (Morris), Jackie Ferguson (Danny), and Michael McDaniel; two faithful sister-in-laws, Willie M. McDaniel, Deborah A. Matthews; two devoted friends, Ernest R. Coleman ("Raybees") and Kenneth Payne ("Payne"). A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. We will all miss your smiles and sense of humor.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with Rev. Edward Jones, Sr. officiating and Dr. C.B. Hutcherson, as Eulogist.
