Reverend Bertram L. Davis, Sr. was born on June 14, 1975 to the late Reverend Bernard L. Davis, Senior and Annie M. Davis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bernard L. Davis, II.
Reverend Davis affectionately called "Bert" graduated, in 1993 from Brookville High School, Lynchburg, Virginia. He attended John Tyler Community College, Chester, Virginia in 1996. Reverend Davis served as Treasurer and was on the board of Trustees at Eastern Theological Seminary, Lynchburg, Virginia.
At an early age, Reverend Davis was baptized at New Dearington Baptist Church, Lynchburg, Virginia where his father was pastor. He received his calling and was licensed to preach the gospel in May, 1998 under the spiritual leadership of Reverend Dr. Peter M. Wherry, Pastor of Queen Street Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia. Reverend Davis later relocated to Roanoke, Virginia and joined Shiloh Baptist Church, Salem, Virginia where Reverend Adrian Dowell is Pastor. There he became an associate minister.
In November 2005, Reverend Davis returned home to Lynchburg, Virginia where he was one of the founders of Davis-Turner Funeral Service. In 2009, he was installed at Mount Evergreen Baptist Church, and served faithfully as pastor for thirteen years.
He gained his professional expertise in funeral service from various funeral homes in Virginia, Community Funeral Home, Lynchburg, Virginia, WS Watkins and Son, Richmond, Virginia, Woodlawn Funeral Home, Norfolk, Virginia, and Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home, Roanoke, Virginia. He was sincerely dedicated to serving families in a spirit of excellence.
Reverend Bert Davis and Elder Tarsha Davis were the proud parent of son, Bertram L. Davis, Jr. of Los Angeles, California and daughter, Adrienne R. Davis of Lynchburg, Virginia. He is also survived by his sister Reverend Glenda A. Davis; niece, Talecia White (Shamus); nephews, Travis Morton, Zachary Davis, and Bernard L. Davis, III; two great nieces, Kamiah and Sakira White; and a host of relatives and friends.
A celebration of Reverend Davis's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 05, 2022, at Tree of Life Ministries. Reverend Dr. Peter Wherry will be the Eulogist. A visitation will be on Friday March 04, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. Interment will be at Virginia Memorial Park. Donations can be sent to Eastern Theological Seminary 805 15th St. Lynchburg, VA 24504 in memory of Reverend Davis. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service. MASKS ARE REQUIRED.
