Obituary

Tony Edward Green, 54, passed away on Tuesday, April 05, 2022, at his residence. Born December 24, 1967, in Richmond, Virginia to the late Mary Edmonia Green who preceded him in death.

Reverend Green was first baptized at an early age, at his request he was baptized again as an adult both times at First Union Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia. He received his call and was licensed in 2002, this prompted him to further his education at the Richmond Virginia Seminary. Once he moved to Lynchburg, he attended the Roanoke Chapter of the Richmond Virginia Seminary. He obtained his associate's degree and his bachelor's degree from the Virginia University of Lynchburg. Until his passing, he was pursuing his master's degree, in Divinity, from Liberty University.

He is survived by his wife, of 8 years, Tamiko Nappier Green; his three children, Timothy Green of Richmond, Cadasa Strange and Jamil Nappier both of Lynchburg; four sisters, Sara Coleman (Nate) of Richmond, Patricia Green of Lynchburg, and Mary Scott (Shawn) of Chesterfield and Wynella Spaulding (Paul) of South Chesterfield; three nephews, Javiel Scott, JaBril Scott and Sam Spaulding; three nieces, Zeporra Coleman, Makahla Jackson, and Savannah Spaulding; his Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, George and Susie Nappier; two devoted prayer partners, Pastor A.J. Watts and Pastor Marcin Wilson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

As his promise to God Reverend Green shared his Love for God and his love for people with all who met him. Everyone knew when you talked to Green you got a word. So, there is no doubt that when God said, "Well done my Good and Faithful servant, your task is complete, and your race is won now come and take your rest" He looked up over the hills with tears in his eyes and said, "Yes Lord".
