On the early morning of December 25, 2013, God gave Revella Eloise Jones Austin, 89, the ultimate Christmas gift and called her to her eternal rest. She was born March 3, 1924 to the late John H. Jones and Lelia I. Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Cris S. Austin, along with her two brothers Willie B. Jones and Ernest Isabell.
Revella was an active member of Jordan Baptist church and attended faithfully until her health failed. She served as church clerk for over 40 years; was a member of the Senior Choir, the Deaconess Ministry, and the Ladies Ministry.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Doris A. Johnson of Lynchburg, VA and Lelia A. Nelson of Staunton, VA; a sister in law Hilda C. Jones of Appomattox, VA; four grandsons Brian M. Johnson of Lynchburg, VA, C.W Durrette of Greensboro, NC, Thomas C. Nelson of Staunton, VA, and Airman First Class S. Isaiah Nelson of Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO; one granddaughter Danielle E. Nelson of Fairfax, VA; one great grandson Ryan A. Johnson of Lynchburg, VA and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, December 30, 2013 at Jordan Baptist Church with Rev. Stuart Jones, as eulogist, Pastor and Elder Alfred Jones, officiating.
