With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Raymond Antonio Saunders, who passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on December 12, 1964, in Lynchburg, Virginia, Raymond was a beloved son of the late Armentha Edith Saunders (Campbell) and Raymond John Saunders.

Raymond's life was a vibrant testament to loyalty, laughter, and love. Known for his sharp wit, infectious sense of humor, and signature phrase— "No fools, no fun"—he brought joy to every space he entered. His presence was bold, his laughter unforgettable, and his role as protector unquestionable. To know Raymond was to feel safe, loved, and truly seen.

He now rests in eternal peace alongside his brothers, Gregory Campbell and Leroy Campbell, and his precious granddaughter, My'Auni Shaw. Though we deeply feel his absence, his spirit continues to shine brightly through the many lives he touched.

Raymond leaves behind a legacy of love in his children: Jermal Reed (Word) of Snellville, Georgia, and Lashaunda Word of Lynchburg, Virginia. His heart lived in his granddaughters, Laniyah Word and M'Kiyrah Shaw, whose lives were forever enriched by his presence. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother, Gerard Saunders; sisters, Tamika Saunders and Sherry Campbell; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, coworkers, and friends. His special lifelong friend, Darnell Word of Lynchburg, stood by his side through life's many chapters and was a cherished constant in his journey.

A memorial service honoring Raymond's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service, 1016 Rivermont Ave, Lynchburg, VA 24504.

Though he may no longer walk beside us, Raymond's laughter, strength, and unconditional love will live on in our hearts forever.
