Raymond W. Carpenter 79, of Washington, D.C,. formally of Amherst, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2007.
Raymond was born in Amherst, County.
Those left to cherish his memories are, Mabel Carpenter; two children, Reginald and Melissa; one sister, Mary (Lee) Johnson; 11 sisters-in-law; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Piney Hill Baptist Church, Amherst with Pastor Poole officiating and the Rev. Earnest Scott as eulogist. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
