Perno Thomas Anderson was born on July 20, 1931 in Bedford County, Va.  He was the son of the late Robert Anderson, Sr. and Mary Slaughter Anderson. Perno entered his eternal rest on 05/31/17. Mr. Anderson was a faithful member of Forest Level Baptist Church where he served in several roles including Chairman of the Deacon Board and Gospel Chorus member until his health failed.

He served in the U.S. Military (Army) until 1954 and received an honorable discharge. He retired from the Lynchburg Foundry in 1994.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie Mae Calloway Anderson; siblings: Robert Anderson, Jr; Catherine Anderson; Irene Anderson Easley; Gracie Anderson; Fred Anderson; Corrine and Lorenzo Anderson; and grandson, Anthony D. Payne, Sr.

He is survived by current wife, Louise Andrews Anderson; one brother, Wyatt Anderson, Sr. Lynchburg, VA; 4 children by his 1 ^st wife, Nellie: Herman Anderson(Veronica), Oxford, MA; Brenda A. Jefferson, Lynchburg, VA; Julia A. Payne, Madison Heights, VA; and Sylvia A. Calloway (Steve), Atlanta, GA.

He is also survived by 3 children from his 2 ^nd marriage to Louise: Barbie A. Randolph (Archie), Lynchburg, VA; Barbara A. Eggleston (David), Lynchburg, VA; and Felicia A. Hatch, Richmond, VA.

Mr. Anderson also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Forest Level Baptist Church, Forest, VA with Rev. Terry Echols, officiating.  The interment will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
