Percy Arnold Reid, Sr. departed this life on April 22, 2023, at Lynchburg Centra Health. He was the son of the late Henry Lee Reid, Sr., the late Shirley Ford Reid, and the stepson of the late Mary Reid (Liz).

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wenzel L. Reid, a sister, Melba R. Jones, and a brother-in-law, David Jones.

He was educated in Lynchburg Public Schools, E.C. Glass High School and he also served in the United States Air Force.

He is lovingly survived by his two children, Percy Reid, Jr. (Teresa) and Patrice Reid Long (Kemp Long); five grandkids, Destiny Smith, Tre'quan Reid, Sophia Reid, Patricia Reid, and Monique Reid; three great-grandkids, Ne'vaugh Bolden, Ty'Kyron Reid, and Sha'quelle Bolden; three brothers, Henry Reid, Jr., Donald Reid (Kay), and Darryl Reid (Andrea); two sisters, Rhonda Nellums, and Vanessa Reid; a devoted aunt, Euphazine R. Kendall; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; and a devoted friend, Valarie Leonard.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
