An angel descended from heaven on Thursday, December 18, 2008 and took Pearlie Mae Larry gently by the hand and led her home.
Pearlie Mae Larry was born on November 13, 1920 to late Obbie Johnson and Frankie Mae Ferguson in Roanoke, Virginia.

She spent most of her years in Roanoke, Virginia. Later she moved with her mother to Franklin County where she met and married Roy Larry, Sr. (Lit). They were married for seventy years. To this union twelve wonderful children were born. Pearlie Mae gave her life to Christ at an early age and attended Mt. Olive Methodist Church, where she remained a member.

Pearlie Mae was preceded in death by her husband Roy Larry, Sr.; her step-father, Harris Ferguson; one child and one grandchild. Left to rejoice in her memory eleven loving children, Joyce Meadows, Roy (Sue) Larry, Rodney (Emma) Larry, James Larry, Susie (Walter) Delaney, Shirley (Gene) Minor, Delois Pennix, Linda (Basil) Mays, Debra (Erskine) Jones, Jerry ( Alicia) Larry, Phillip Larry (caregiver of his mother and father for a number of years); twenty-six grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, December 22, 2008 at Mt. Olivet Methodist Church with Rev. Connie Lee officiating. The interment will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens.
