Obituary

Paul Wilson Glover, Sr., 86, of Gladstone, Virginia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, surrounded by loved ones at the home of his daughter, Pauline Victoria Glover-Henley (Vickie).

Born on June 10, 1939, Paul was the son of the late Helen Elizabeth Glover Washington. He was a man known for his strength, quiet wisdom, and dedication to family and faith. Paul accepted Christ at an early age, joining Second Mineral Springs Baptist Church, and later continued his walk with the Lord at St. John Baptist Church.

Paul spent many years working as a logger, a job that reflected his hardworking nature. He later worked at Lynchburg Foundry and Archer Creek Foundry, where he remained until retirement. No matter the work, Paul took pride in providing for his family and setting an example through perseverance and humility.

In addition to his mother, Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gladys Mae Glover; granddaughter, Denesha Glover; stepfather, Haywood Nathaniel Washington; sister, Virginia Glover; his brothers, Richard Glover, Sr., Aaron Glover, and Matthew Glover; and a special uncle, George Glover, Sr.

Paul leaves to cherish his memory his six children: Clinton Glover, Sr. (Mamie) of Amherst, VA, Joseph Glover, Sr. (Veronica) of Madison Heights, VA, Paul Glover, Jr. (Pamela) of Amherst, VA, Pauline Victoria Glover-Henley, of Amherst, VA; April Green (Richard), of Gladstone, VA, and Felicia Glover, of Gladstone, VA. He was a proud grandfather to 24 grandchildren and a loving great-grandfather to 26 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, James Lewis Glover (Elaine); a special nephew, Richard Glover, Jr. (Diane); sister-in-law, Theresa Glover; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever remember his steady presence and loving spirit.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. Interment will be in the Second Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. A repast will be held following the service at 801 Ebenezer Road, Amherst, VA 24521. Service of comfort entrusted to Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
