As is His prerogative, the Heavenly Father dispatched angels among us, and this time, had them bring to Him one of his precious ones. Thus around 8 p.m. Thursday evening, Dec. 10, 2009, after a long illness, Mrs. Patricia Terrell journeyed to her celestial home.
On Sept. 17, 1946, Patricia was born to Durant Bevley and Geraldine Shelton Bevley Anderson. Patricia professed her faith at an early age, and was baptized by her beloved paternal great-grandfather, the Rev. James Allen Shelton, pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Pat graduated from Dunbar High School, trained for the nursing profession and worked as a licensed practical nurse for many years. She was devoted to her patients and was crushed when her career was interrupted by job- related injuries.
Her union with John Terrell produced the dear loves of her life, her two daughters, Tyease and Tasha; and her twin boys, John and Jarrod, all of whom survive to cherish her memory. She is also survived by her sister, Michelle Anderson, of Washington, D.C.; and her niece, Alexes Anderson, of Cooley Law School, Lansing, Mich. Other survivors include her friends; the Mabry family; Marian Douglas; Bettye McDowell; Patricia Anderson Shelton; Jacqueline Reeves; and her cousins, Joyce Price, Gaynelle Pullen, Corinne Anderson; as well as Lois and St. Clair Anderson Sr.; and many other friends and relatives who enjoyed Patricia's kind, friendly and gregarious manner. She was a good soul, a loving mother, a faithful friend and will be sorely missed.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service, with the Rev. Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at the funeral home. Expressions of condolences may be sent to www.Davis-Turner.com. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service, Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24504.
