Oscar Jamall "O.J. Moore of Norfolk, VA departed this life on May 28, 2007. He was born October 16, 1979 in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late Oscar Larry Moore and Lois Mae Jones. After graduating from Nelson County High School, he joined the United States Marie Corps where he served until 2007 with tours of duty in Iraq and several other countries. He joined the Second Mineral Springs Baptist Church at a young age and served regularly with his family until he departed the area. He leaves to cherish his memories, a sister, Lesley (John) Hailey; one nephew, Joshua Moore; a loving and devoted grandmother, Mary Lou Jones, all of Gladestone, VA and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:oo PM Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Second Mineral Spring Baptist Church, Gladestone with Pastor Hagar officiating and Dr. M.D. Mays as Eulogist. Interment will be in the Jones Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-7 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. "OJ" will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service.
