Norval "Butch" Taliafero, Jr., of 249 Rothwood Rd. Monroe passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008, at McGuire Veteran Center Richmond. Norval was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Norval F. Taliaferro, Sr. and Irene Brooks and is survived by his stepfather Frank Brooks. He was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Moses and Annie Taliafero. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Bridgette Woody-Taliafero; his granddaughter, his heart Kentajha Moya Woody known as his "bird"; seven children, Kenneth Tweedy, Wayne (Lisa) Tweedy, Deborah Taliafero, Eli (Leticia) Tafiafero, Norval Taliafero, III, Monique Woody and Car'Kecia Woody; many sister and brothers; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a special daughter-in-law, Christine Taliafero and son-in-law, Johnny (Hoss) Griggs; his mother-in-law, Norma Brown; a dear uncle and brother Wardell (Velma) Taliafero; and a host of other reletives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Bolling Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Edward Jones officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
