Norma J. Brower, - 58, of Atlantic City, NJ was called home on Friday, July 30, 2021. Norma was born on November 18, 1962 in Atlantic City, NJ to the late Shirley and Charles Brower. She attended the local Atlantic City school system. After completing school she worked in several casinos, the Uptown Complex and later working for the City of Atlantic City in Community Development. Norma had a passion for helping people in housing. Later, Norma moved to Danville, Va to be near her children. Norma began working for the City of Danville in Housing in Development again helping people with housing. She became well known in Danville by the residents if they needed help with any type of housing issues. Norma's greatest joy was her grandchildren and whatever they wanted they got, she spoiled each and everyone of them. She would say, it's a lot of them but I'm glad that I'm still here to see and enjoy them. Norma's other joy was her mother. When her mother became ill she would work all week and on Friday get on the road to get to NJ to be with her mother until she passed, she would say, "First my mom, forever my best friend". Norma is predeceased by her parents Shirley A. Kyles Brower and Charles Brower, maternal grandparents Ludie and Emma Kyles, paternal grandmother Harriett Brower, aunt Rose Scott, uncles Nelson, Rudy and Edward Kyles and stepfather Lorenzo Johnson. A special second mother Theresa Walker. Norma is survived by her children Shiana Brower Williams of High Point, NC, Chamira Brower Williams of Greensboro, NC, Sheena Brower Williams(Howard)of Roanoke, VA, Takia Williams of Danville, VA, Raheem Williams of Roanoke, VA and Dana Fisher(Lamar)of Atlantic City, NJ, 22 grandchildren, a sister Cheryl Brower of Danville, VA, 1 great aunt Ruth Corbitt of Atlantic City, 3 aunts Mary Kyles of Philadelphia, PA, Rosa Lee Kyles of Pleasantville, NJ and Yvonne Kyles of Atlantic City, NJ. A special loving friend Darryl Logan, 3 best friends that were like sisters Angie Marshall, Cynthia Anderson and Rochelle James. A special cousin Donna Lyons and also two childhood friends Ronald Porter and Tamia Walker. Services will be held at St. James AME Church 101 N New York Ave, Atlantic City, NJ on Monday August 9, 2021 at 11:00AM. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00. Repast will be held at the All Wars Memorial Building from 2:00pm-5:00pm 1510 Adriatic Ave. Arrangements by Serenity Funeral Home.
