Nannie Christine Brady-Fitch "Momma Fitch" of Amherst entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 10, 2021, at Fairmont Crossing Health Care Center. Nannie was born in Nelson County, May 27, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Bernice Beatrice Page-Brady. Nannie attended school in Nelson County before moving to Amherst where she continued her education at Central High School. She became a member of Elk Hill Baptist Church at an early age.
Nannie spent most of her career working for the Federal Government on Capitol Hill. She retired from the Federal Government after twenty some years of service.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Jeryl, Joseph, Velvin, Brad and James; grandchildren, Megan, Dennis II, Richard, Latoya, Diara, Kobe, William, Kammari and Demetrius; great-grandchildren, Dayone, Jada, Austin, Dennis III, Liam, Cash, Chance and Capri; a son-in-law, Dennis Boone, Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Teeter Fitch; two brothers, Walter Earl Brady and his wife Valerie of Monroeville, PA and Donald M. Brady and his wife Tracy; one sister, Grace Jean Paige of New York; a very special and devoted niece, Joyce B. Sorrells-Wright of Madison Heights, VA.
A celebration of Nannie's life will be held at 11:30AM Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with the Rev. Edward Jones, Eulogist. Interment will be in the Elk Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. COVID precautions will be in place. Please wear a mask. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
