Muriell Frederick Johnson, Sr., of 5419 of Pleasant Valley Rd, Lynchburg went home to his Heavenly Father on June 9, 2008 at his residence. He was born June 27, 1927 to the late Henry and Ethel Mason Johnson. In addition to his parents Muriell was preceded in death by his wife, Velva Johnson and a son, Murriell F. Johnson, Jr. He was a life time member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and a retiree of Sears Roebuck & Co. He was a devoted member of the Star of the West Masonic Lodge #24.
Those left to cherish his memories are three daughters, Kay Johnson, Carol Cunningham both of Lynchburg and Dawn Johnson, of Richmond, VA; one son Kenneth Jackson, of Newport News; two sisters, Bertha Brown, of Lynchburg, Ethel (Elbert) Green, Westwood, NJ; two brothers, Clarence (Louise) Johnson and Lawrence (Minnie) Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Friday, June 13, 2008 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Carlton Jackson, officiating. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
