Obituary

Merdith (Bootie) Austin II entered into eternal peace Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born November 25, 1950 to the late Murray and Mary Austin. A wife, Orelia Elizabeth Austin; two daughters, Wanda and Tahara Austin; one son, John Austin; two granddaughters, Canisha and Ma'Kaya; and two grandsons, Cameron and MeKhi preceded him in death.

Merdith worked with CXS Railroad for many years until his health failed. He joined Jordan Baptist Church at young age before becoming a member of Second Mineral Springs where he was on the Deacon Board, Men's Chorus, and the Mass Choir.

He leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters, Roneia and Pamela Austin; and a son, Merdith Austin III all of Madison Heights, VA; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandkids; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held 2PM Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with the Rev. Benjamin Revely, Jr., Eulogist. Interment will be in the Revely Family Cemetery. COVID precautions will be followed. Please wear a mask. Service of comfort rendered by Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
