Mary Maggie Eggleston, 84 of Big Island passed away peaceful at Lynchburg General Hospital on Thursday, October 29th 2015 with love ones by her side. Born on July 15th 1931, she was a devoted wife to William Eggleston for 61 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Eggleston; and son, Jerry Eggleston, Charlie and Mary Dabney.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Steve Dabney (Sandra), Ronnie Eggleston (Mary), David Eggleston (Barbara), Sheila Plenty (Greg), Michael Eggleston (Dawn), John Eggleston (June), Maritha Richardson (Chip), Donnie Eggleston, Judy Graves (Melvin); four siblings, Earlene, Dean, James, Bobby and George; one sister, Alberta; 22 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 2, 2015 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service with Minister Judy Graves, officiating and Minister Billy Coleman, as Eulogist. The interment will be in the Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery, Big Island. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the home of 301 Robin Dr. Lynchburg, VA 24502 and on Sunday at Davis-Turner Funeral Service from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
