Mary Lou Donigan Jones answered the call of the Lord on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Lynchburg General Hosptial. Mary was born on August 1, 1915 in Amherst County to the late Earnest and Clara Donigan. She was the wife of the late George W. Jones, Jr. Mary was also preceded in death by three children, Leslie, David and Mamie Jones; two brothers, David and Walter Donigan; three sisters, Viola Lamb, Emmorine Jones and Mirene Wilson. She was a member of Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church. Mary Lou leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Dorothy Johnson and the late Robert Johnson her husband; one son, Robert Jones of Madison Heights; two sisters, Mamie Brown of Baltimore, MD and Helen Franklin of Madison Heights; three brothers, James and Richard Donigan and Robert Jones all of New Jersey; three devoted grandchildren, Ray and Janice Johnson, and Lloyd Dixon; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Andrew Hill officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7-8 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service and other times at the residence of Dorothy Johnson, 127 Sidney Drive Amherst.
