Deacon Marvin W. Clark, Jr., of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at his residence.

He was born on December 17, 1950, to the late Susie and Marvin Clark Sr. He was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Parrish.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Vernetta Clark; daughters, Marnetta Clark (Lynchburg), Shaneisha Smith (Lynchburg), and Angela Adams (Madison Heights). Three young men who loved him as another father, Stephon Smith (Lynchburg), James Butcher (Bear, DE) and Eric Monroe (Amherst). A devoted brother, James Clark, and four sisters, Reolia Clark, Marlene James, Belinda Petty (Hezekiah), and Earnestine Clark; an aunt, Virginia Clark; devoted mother-in-law, Marie Andrews; brother-in-law, Thomas Roberson (Anita) and Sister-in-law, Sherri Andrews; his grandchildren, all of whom he enjoyed spending time with, Eric Monroe, Jr., Desmond Monroe, Donovan Monroe, Nadia Smith, Samantha Darling and Donte' Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Wolf, as he was affectionately called by friends and family, was a retired electrician, who still enjoyed occasionally working on electrical projects for friends. While he spent most of his adult life working as an electrician, he was also an Army Veteran who served two years active duty and 10 years in the Army Reserves. He also spent many years as a drummer for various gospel groups in the area, most recently New Beginning Gospel Singers of Appomattox. Having credited his wife with introducing him to Christ, he became a member of the Lynchburg Seventh-day Adventist Church and enjoyed serving as an active member and deacon.

Mr. Clark will be on view Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 11-5 at Davis-Turner Funeral Service. A memorial will be held 1PM Friday, January 15, 2021 at Lynchburg Seventh-day Adventist Church.
